Begbroke Science Park Academic and Commercial Buildings
Project Description:
Begbroke Science Park is located south of the town Begbroke, surrounded by agricultural land and nestled between Yarnton, Kidlington Woodstock and Northwest of Oxford City Centre. Begbroke Science Park comprises of several one and two-storey buildings which accommodate laboratories, engineering facilities and administrative buildings including a Grade II listed three-storey farmhouse.
The Academic and Commercial buildings have been designed to operate as a multi-tenanted building and the primary use is intended for tenant laboratory/write-up fit-out. The floorplates have been designed with flexibility in mind so that the buildings can be split and subdivided in different ways to suit tenancies of varying sizes. By incorporating satellite ‘process risers’ throughout the floorplate, the design allows tenants to fit out their laboratories and plug into process risers from their own tenant space with limited disruption to adjoining tenants. The centre of the building is opened up by the triple-height atrium to become a community space for the tenants, which also acts as primary circulation in the building and allows natural daylight to penetrate adjacent tenancies.
