Project Description:

Demolition of the former Douglas Bennett House was followed by the construction of the New Douglas Bennett House (NDBH), a modern eight-ward inpatient facility providing acute adult inpatient services including four specialist wards and a psychiatric intensive care unit.

Key Challenges:

• Demolition in proximity to the Fetal Medicine Research Institute and private residents to Windsor Walk.

• User requirements promoting enhanced construction detailing.

• Heavily serviced building resulting in congested servicing routes requiring detailed coordination.

• Complex access and maintenance strategy due to building siting
