The project comprised accommodation refurbishment and fire compartmentation work within the UEA Village:

• Larch House – Full refurbishment including Fire Improvement works.
• Ash House – Full refurbishment including Fire Improvement works.
• Willow and Pine – Roof Fire improvement works.
• The Village Houses & Suffolk Terrace- Re- Flooring

Key Challenges:

• Working in a busy University Campus environment and ensuring robust traffic management and site segregation was in place to ensure safety of adjacent students, staff and public.
• Constraints associated with the above plus adhering to specific Client procedures for deliveries, working hours.
• Ensuring noise and dust were kept to a minimum throughout.
• Interfaces between staff / students and contractor’s access routes were proactively managed to ensure segregation wherever possible. Means of escape routes were always kept clear and clean and where there were shared spaces the contractor’s management arrangements were implemented to ensure safe passage and minimum disruption for users.
