Project description
The project comprises mixed-use commercial workspace within Plots J & K residential, providing 800-plus new apartments of the Mayfield masterplan, a landmark regeneration scheme located adjacent to Manchester Piccadilly station on the south side of the award-winning 6.5-acre Mayfield Park. Plots J & K are designed to integrate seamlessly with the park and the wider development, contributing to the creation of a vibrant, sustainable district that blends high-quality workspace with enhanced public realm and community amenities
As Principal Designer, iM2 led hazard-focused design reviews and established a robust risk management framework to support the project through RIBA Stages 1–3 (Design Stages still ongoing). They coordinated the production of Pre-Construction Information Packs and other stage-specific documentation, ensuring all statutory requirements were met.
iM2 guided the design teams to adopt a systematic approach to risk elimination, reduction and control in full compliance with the CDM Regulations 2015. By facilitating multi-disciplinary CDM workshops, they aligned safety principles across architectural, structural, MEP, civil and landscape disciplines. In addition, they ensured that design interface reviews were undertaken at an early stage, effectively preventing potential construction-phase hazards and clashes. *
