Project description
The House of Fraser department store is situated to the Southwest corner of Bluewater Shopping Centre. Acting as a major retail anchor to the shopping centre, House of Fraser provides a connection between the external Village and Plaza car parks, to the internal Guildhall and Thames Walk mall spaces. The department store can be accessed at both Lower Mall and Upper Mall levels from the external car parks or via the internal mall shopfronts. House of Fraser is flanked to the north by Service Yard 9 and to the south by Service Yard 8.
The scope of works includes the reconfiguration of unit U068 at levels L00 & L01 for a new single occupier including a new roof light, full MEP, and escalator replacement. Primary access will be from the internal mall space. The shopfront zone at ground floor is to extended forward into the Star Court mall space and the existing mall escape corridor is to be relocated to allow for a larger unit footprint unit merger.
Adaptations to the internal mall floor & ceiling finishes will be incorporated to allow a consistent visual appearance to the unit and the surrounding Star Court environment at ground floor while the existing escalator pits at ground floor and the existing atrium void at first floor are to be filled in with new structural works to slab where substations are infilling.
